Epson Printer - Prints 1x then loses WiFi Ccnnection

This is a post from another user from 2013 that I copied and pasted. Sadly . . . their issue is the EXACT same issue as I'm having and have had with the 2 Epson printers I've purchased. I probably should get a different brand but was hoping there is a fix by now. My husband can print to my printer with zero problems from his laptop. It's an Apple issue!

Post from 2013 from another user: "I can set up a wifi connection. Printer is found. I can print once I established the connection. But when after a few minutes I want to print something again, Mac says it cannot find the printer anymore.

Strange enough, when I use Epson software to SCAN something, Mac does find the printer(scanner) over wifi. When I try to print after scanning, Mac again cannot find the printer.

Epson thinks it has something to do with network settings, but the printer is found by the router. When I turn of both firewalls (mac and router), the problem still exists.

I googled this problem and saw there are other people with similar problems, but I did not find a solution yet.

I tried: reinstalling printersoftware etc."

Your network is fine; RSSI (-50), noise (-92), Tx (907 Mbps), PHY 802.11ax, MCS 8, NSS 2; are all appropriate.

The networking in this Epson EcoTank ET-5150 printer is fairly old, and seemingly only knows from WPA2. Epson tech specs are less than clearhere, unfortunately. Buried in an error code table in the printer manual is the following list of supported Wi-Fi connections:

Check whether your Wi-Fi router security is set to WPA2/WPA3 transitional, or is set to WPA3. You’ll need it to be the former.

If it’s WPA3, your printer probably can’t connect to it, and any printing is happening directly and not via your Wi-Fi network.

Your macOS version is also several updates behind, and you’ll want to update that.

Apple includes drivers for AirPrint, and for a few common printing standards (LPR/LPD, etc), but does not include vendor-provided drivers, and a decade-old printer is probably too old for AirPrint support.

That written, this seems more like it might be a local networking problem, or maybe a misconfigured or failing Wi-Fi router, or maybe the printer Wi-Fi or Mac Wi-Fi is having issues.

Presumably Epson has encouraged you to update the printer firmware, and you will want to check for and update your Wi-Fi router firmware, too.

If Epson support can’t fix this, I’d next look to troubleshoot and then to replace the Wi-Fi router, the printer, or maybe both.

Some configuration details, please?

Which printer model, which Wi-Fi model, which macOS?

Wi-Fi only, or a mix of Wi-Fi and wired networking?

To gather some Wi-Fi data… Hold the Option Key down while pressing on the Wi-Fi icon in the menu bar, and post the RSSI, noise, TX Rate, PHY mode, MCS, and NSS data from your network, too. You need to provide more detailed information about your iMac and the printers.

What year model iMac and macOS version is it running?

What models are the Epson printers?

FWIW the latest Epson Printers use AirPrint and should not require Epson software to print or scan.

Thank you for trying to troubleshoot this with me. Some additional details that may be helpful . . . the printer is an Epson ET 5150. It's less than a year old. I replaced it because my other Epson started to do the same thing (where it would print one job and then I would have to turn it off and back on to print another job). I thought the printer was broken - hence - bought a new one. Now, having same problem after the printer was working fine for several months and started not working when I bought my new Mac. My husband, whose office is a level below mine, has zero problems printing to my printer. Here's the WiFi details you asked for:
