AppleTV App not playing 4K with Roku Device

The AppleTV app is not playing movies that I purchased in 4K on my Roku Device. I have done ALL the trouble shooting that I am aware of and it's still not doing it. Here's the kicker - When I use the Samsung AppleTV app, it plays perfectly. Roku support has been useless and keep telling me to go through their trouble shooting options, which do not work. I am unable to get hold of AppleTV support either. Can anyone help me, please???

Roku Ultra model 4800X should do 4K if the content is available in 4K.

The Apple TV app can be set to ‘SD’ for low bandwidth users, but all other video settings should be device settings, not app settings. ‘HD or better’ is default.

Is your device set to use YCbCr color space (not RGB)? Is your device set to use 4:2:0 chroma (not 4:4:4)? Not sure if or where Roku even has settings for that …

Are you using an 18 Gbps rated HDMI cable (“Premium High Speed”) or better? Older 5 Gbps or 10 Gbps cables may not be sufficient for 4K HDR.

The TV’s HDMI port may need to be configured for high bandwidth use. Samsung may have a configuration setting for the corresponding HDMI port, to set Input Signal Plus.

Else contact Apple Support.

The 2019 Roku Express 3930X is for HD streaming, not 4K streaming. It should access the HD stream for titles that are available in 4K. Buy a different model for 4K support.

Contact Apple for support and service - Apple Support

They can’t magically upgrade your Roku, though.
