AppleTV access on my Samsung TV

I signed up for an Apple TV+ subscription. We watched a program. A few days later, turned on our TV, went to the Apple TV icon and it asked us to sign in again. This is really awkward to do. I tried to scan the code on the TV but that just took me back and forth and I finally gave up. Then I cancelled my subscription.

Is there any way to subscribe to AppleTV without going through the sign in nonsense? I can access it without problem from my iPad.

I can use it on Samsung TV with only the initial sign-in from about a year ago. It seems that the app edition for the Samsung platform is able to perform as expected.

Try a cold restart of the TV; possibly that is enough, to have the app save credentials.

Cold reboot the TV,
Update the TV system software, if available,
Delete and reinstall the misbehaving app (if deletion is supported for that app),
If needed, reset the ‘Smart Hub’ (like a factory reset for the apps part of the TV).
