Non-iTunes Music from iPhone 8 to 14

What's the best way to transfer non-iTunes music from an iPhone 8 to an iPhone 14. There was some guidance earlier that said a transfer would be possible only if I had the music on a computer. But if the music is already on my iPhone 8 shouldn't it be easy enough to just transfer it to a computer and then make the transfer to my new phone? Thanks.

iPhone 4s, iOS 9

The original (iPod, iTunes, Mac) ecosystem was set up for one-way transfers from a master iTunes Library on a Mac to an iPod. No copying things back the other way.

The system that iPods, iPhones, and iPads use now evolved from that, with modifications for things such as the fact that on an iPod touch, iPhone, or iPad, you might buy music on the mobile device itself, that you then wanted to put back onto your computer.

I'm not sure whether iTunes (Mac, pre-Catalina; Windows) or Finder (Mac, Catalina and later) will do what you want. There may be third-party applications that would.
