Facebook No Longer Full Screen

All of a sudden when I open Facebook on my iPad, the main body of it is only on the left 2/3 of the screen, and there is even a one inch area to the left of that with nothing in it. The right part of the screen is taken up by birthday and event listings, etc., then another 1 inch gray area on the right side. I cannot find a way to get the main body of the Facebook home page to take up most of the screen as it always has (and does on my iMac and iPhone). I have deleted the Facebook app, shut the iPad down, and it still shows that way. Any ideas how to fix this? By the way, I am running 17.4.
