I am not able to download ICICI bank app on iPhone X due iOS version issue

I have i phone x and it support iOS version 16.7.6 only. and i want to download icici bank app but icici bank app supporting only 17+ iOS version. so if you have any other method to download or update my phone with latest version iOS so please let us know it will be your great help

Your bank requires iOS 17 in order to use their app. Your iPhone X is not capable of being updated to iOS 17. So you either accept you cannot use your banks app, or you buy a newer, more modern iPhone.

Apple is not responsible for the issues with the bank's app. It is ICICI Bank that is disregarding our complaints. This highlights ICICI Bank's misguided decision-making, particularly in appointing individuals who approve such limitations on iOS. While they may have implemented restrictions for newer versions of iMobile, they should still ensure access for existing users. I have exhausted my efforts in engaging with ICICI Bank's customer service. Consequently, I have lodged a formal complaint with RBI's Ombudsman, seeking compensation of INR 50,000 for the mental distress caused by this inaccessibility issue. You to can raise a complaint from here.

I believe the problem is that the app is compatible only with the latest operating system – iOS 17.


I spot-checked a few apps from U.S. banks and credit unions, and all of them would run on iOS 15 and up. Some would run on iOS 14. That seems more reasonable. But if this ICICI app will only run on iOS 17, that would be the bank's doing – not Apple's.

That's nonsense.


Why would Apple have an "underground deal" with ICICI, but not bother making similar "deals" with U.S. banks which account for huge numbers of customers? Why do those U.S. banks have apps that can run on iOS 15 or later (and in many cases, on iOS 14 or later), if there is such a huge conspiracy?


Your accusations do not pass the smell test.


The obvious explanation is also the most plausible one: that ICICI, and ICICI alone, decided to impose an iOS 17 requirement on you. Also, that instead of taking it out on ICICI, you and others in this thread are looking to take your beef with ICICI out on Apple. Which isn't going to help you one bit, because it is ICICI who controls system requirements for their apps, whether you're talking about the iPhone versions or the Android versions.

facing same issue and we are same page , despite of maintaing the minimum balance if deniying me service which i deserve , simply i am going to change the bank account , updation is nothing to do with banking security only to make us buy new phone for 80 thousand rupees and install the app what is point , should we complaine to RBI about this nexus
