Unable to download apps from App Store

I am unable to download an app for work because apple keeps trying to charge me for a subscription I already cancelled and when I called apple support, they said I have to pay for the subscription even though I cancelled it and there is nothing they can do on their end🤨🤨.

why do I have to pay to download a free app? Why are there restrictions on the App Store if you choose not to carry on with a subscription? Why does apple take money from my Apple Pay and the can’t explain the charge when I question it?

I thought I was upgrading when I switched to apple, but it is clearly a MAJOR DOWNGRADE!! Never had a phone steal money from me smh and then have no explanation as to where it went, even when I provide a screenshot.

Did you cancel in time?

This support article explains how to cancel a subscription from Apple on an Apple mobile device, Mac, PC, and online āž” Manage a subscription - Apple Support , or this video will only show you how to do it on an iPhone āž” https://www.youtube.com/watch/XXx-J-ueCtE

Notes:

• You might need to scroll down to find the Cancel Subscription button.

• If you don’t see Cancel Subscription, then the subscription is already canceled and won't renew. An "Expires" date (instead of "Renews") means the current subscription has been canceled but will work until the expiration date. "Resubscribe" (or Renew) is just in case you change your mind about having it end.

• Deleting an app does not cancel a subscription.

• If you don’t cancel trials more than 24 hours before your renewal date, your subscription might renew.

• If you don't have an Apple device, see the options near the bottom of the support document.

• Many subscriptions are set to renew automatically until you intentionally cancel them.

If you owe Apple money they will insist you pay before they will let you download more things. If you think you were billed unfairly then pay and ask for a refund.
