Pages Grammar and spellcheck

Hello people, First time on here so please be gentle 😋.

I am using an iPad pro to write on and using the Apple Pages app.

No matter what i do with the options, have them all switched on, or the annoying ones off and the ones i want on, Pages no longer auto-capitalises, neither at the start of sentences nor in things like I’m.

(Also this new spellcheck replacement thing is so annoying, if it changes something but then you delete up to, not through just up to, it deletes the word.

And, Ive checked a change in spelling etc before moving on then on the reread have found that it has changed the word again at some point while I'm later in the text… but i think they are gripes rather than system problems that can be fixed)

so if anyone has any ideas I am completely befuddled, Ive hard reset and everything…

Any help gratefully appreciated.

✌️

I have Pages v13.2 for iOS 17.4, but no iPad running it. On iOS, have you selected Settings : General : Auto-Capitalization, Auto-Correction, and Check Spelling? In the Pages application, once you have a document open, click the ⋯⃝ symbol to expose Pages Settings menu item. On that Auto-Correction pane, you will find Check Spelling.

As far as I can tell, Pages for iOS/iPadOS offers no grammar checking feature and to accomplish this, you might consider installing the free Grammarly for iOS/iPadOS found in the App Store. Although Pages for Mac has spell checking and grammar checking, the latter is eclipsed by the free Grammarly for Mac (which I use without a Grammarly account).
