GarageBand Count-In Function Inaccurate

Recording an audio/narration track with the count-in set to 2 bars. When I click record the count-in counts 2 bars and then gives me an extra 3rd bar for the count-in. This is frustrating because I don't know why. If I begin recording the sound of the count-in gets recorded too. My device is a MacBook Air M1 2020 running the Sonoma 14.4 MacOS. Is there a way to fix this issue?
