Ankle pedometer

Has anyone found a way to link an ankle device to the Apple system yet.

I get consistently accurate step count results from a Fitbit charge 5 placed in my sock (no other monitoring feature works though) but don’t know how to get it to talk to an Apple app.

The pedometer on my iPhone 14 with IOS 18.2.1 does not update steps in a timely manner I was walking today and the steps in Health were 6311. I walked about 20 minutes more and the steps were still 6311. I exited the app, came back in, same result. closed the app, same result. I walked about 20 minutes more and then the steps were 105xx. I was probably in an area with intermittent or no cell phone service ; walked another 20 minutes in an area with cell phone coverage, steps were still 105xx. Stopped for about a minute, looked multiple times at the app, no update of steps. Walked to the car and steps were 13k. It is rather annoying to have these large gaps between updates. Is there any way to force Health to update the steps more frequently?

i do not have a fitness tracker listed here. i bought an off brand fitness tracker a few years ago which is not listed in the app and therefore not recording my steps. besides purchasing another smartwatch, is there a way to get my steps into the app?
