How to draw half circle in Pages

I saw an old discussion asking this very question but I found a MUCH easier solution.

I wanted to join two lines with a fillet, ie a curved join. I drew the two lines in Pages and then inserted a Rounded Rectangle.

Using one of the screen capture tools Ctrl-$, which on a uk keyboard is Shift-Ctrl-4, I captured the appropriate corner from the rectangle. This capture tool copies the clipping into a new email.

I selected the clipping in the email and dragged it back into Pages. It needed resizing before I moved it over the join.

I hope this helps somebody.

In Pages Preferences/Settings : Ruler, one can enable the alignment guides, with an individual color choice:

What this does for you is automatically shows alignment guides when you are aligning objects near or over one another

Now, one can insert a default circle shape, a default square shape, and then drag the square shape over the circle until one receives the automatic alignment revealing a semi-circle. Click on the remaining part of the circle to make it foreground and then visit the Arrange panel and at the bottom, click the Subtract button.

Now you have a filled semi-circle remaining of which you can choose the fill color and/or border from the Styles panel.
