Locked in Recovery Mode: Impact of iOS 17.4 Update, 17.4.1 Failed to Rescue.

After attempting to update to iOS 17.4 multiple times, I ended up locked in recovery mode with that Error Code (-1).06A6.FFFF.

Today, I tried updating to iOS 17.4.1, but I still encountered the same result: a boot-looped iPhone that's unable to update or restore. Everything was fine on iOS 17.3.1, and I haven't faced such an issue since iOS 6. I don't understand how such a software bug slipped through the beta stages.

That particular error code (-1) usually indicates a critical hardware failure.

Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of your local Apple Store. An update isn’t going to fix this. The phone will probably have to be replaced.

If this problem is not resolved by iOS 17.5 it will not be through another update until we decide to speak out louder.

I have a TON of logs, logs of OTA error (17.3 to 17.4), logs of Windows/macOS restores, logs of macOS High Sierra restores (which are differents from Windows/updated macOS.

Some of them complain about insufficient NV RAM space and things like that.

Update :

Now that i am at 17.3.1 (started fresh) this is what i get when i try 17.4.1 OTA

There’s still something going on with these updates, my guess is that updating from Mac/iTunes will also result in same error, I’ll stay where i am right now and skip this whole 17.4.X series of updates for now, and that my advice for anyone in a similar position.
