Clearing cache and cookies in Google Chrome on a MacBook Pro

I´ve inherited a MacBook Pro but is a newbie/ rookie on it after more that 30 years with Windows. That´s my big problem as I can´t handle the Mac well. My most pressing problem is that I have problems with one of my locked sites and need to clear my cache and cookies for that site. I´ve been told to do so, but don´t know where I can find the cache and the cookies in my Google Chrome. Aøll help will be very appreciated. Also if someone can tell me which broser is the best to use on my MacBook.

In addition to this "small" problem I´m wondering is there´s a site, a book or a link where I can sort out my knowledge so that I can start to use my MacBook properly ...and maybe in due time forget Windows and all its quirks.

I hope there´s somebody out there who can help me ...to be a Mac lover.

In advance thank you!

Apple menu (the Apple logo in the upper left) -> About This Mac will tell you what Mac OS version you are using and what Mac model/year you are using. This information will be helpful for us to give you further help.

David Pogue has written a "missing manual" for most every Mac OS. There is also a very good visual start guide.

Chrome caches are cleared using this link in the address field (use the Edit menu to find Copy and Paste)

chrome://settings/?search=cache

there is also on the far right three dots lined up vertically which has a pull down menu that includes Settings for all Chrome Settings.

Keep in mind, if you got a computer from someone else, if they left you software on it, wipe it clean and start fresh. Once we know your current Mac OS, and model year/Mac model, we can tell you how to do this. The fact you have Chrome makes us wonder did you download it, or did it come with the computer? If it came with the computer, you still have software left from the prior owner.
