iOS private WiFi address issues with security suite by spectrum
I am aware of what the intent of apples private WiFi address does; however, my isp doesn’t recognize the random MAC addresses created by this feature and treats it like an intrusion, thereby kicking me off of my own system.
I also know that it’s not as secure as was originally touted, as evidenced by MacWorlds article; apple has since remedied the vulnerability. It may behave like a VPN for public WiFi, but it should be utilized for different addresses, not for your home network at all, as your home wifi should be a trusted network.
Apple, you need more clarity about these features and better wording about what its for, not just what it DOES; sometimes your security borders on paranoia.
