syncing highlights/notes in books

On the books app i usually have no problem seeing highlights/notes i make across my phone and ipad. However, with this specific book nothing is syncing, if i make a highlight on my ipad it will not appear on the book if i open it on my phone. Does anyone know how i can fix this? I tried turning on/off the sync option in settings but it didn’t change anything

Notes doesn't sync I need to open BOTH apps on both my devices to make Notes sync. Is this normal? It used to, at one time, sync in the background with the apps quit. Is there some setting I am missing? It's pretty irritating when my computer is at home and my shopping list won't sync because I am not there to open the Notes app.

Solution for No annotations found on Kindle app on ipad Air 2 and iPad Pro There was a problem when annotations and highlights made on Kindle app on one device did not sync properly to different devices. In my case, I used Kindle app on PC to read a book I needed for exam and I made lot of annotations. When opened Kindle app on iPad, these annotations were missing from the book. Note: at the same time, everything was fine with Kindle app on iPhone and another PC (all my markings/highlights were there), but annotations did not sync with iPad (two different models of iPad, both had the same problem). I searched web for solution, tried to remove Kindle App from both iPads and reinstall it, deregister App but none of these actions fixed the problem. What helped in my case - I opened the book I was using on Kindle on iPad (annotations were missing), and I made a single highlight to this book (does not matter where, I highlighted 'Copyright'). After couple seconds this highlight was synced across all devices (Kindle on PCs, iPhone and second iPad) BUT most importantly, all annotations and highlights that were previously made on Kindle on PC were now also available on Kindle on both iPads, so book was properly synchronized across all devices with all annotations (as it should be). This is more band-aid than solution, but it worked in my case.

My iPad does not synchronize books from my Mac on the books app I used to add epubs from my Macbook Pro by just double clicking on the epub file and the book will be added to my books app on my Macbook, and a couple of minutes later (usually a couple of seconds) the book will be on my books app on my iPad too. Now whenever I add a new book to my books app on my Macbook, it does not synchronize anymore on my iPad. I have to connect a cable and do the syncing manually, very cumbersome. Any ideaso of why this is happening?
