Magic Keyboard No Longer Switches Keyboards With Globe Key

When I first bought my Magic Keyboard, I could switch between installed keyboards, from normal to Grammarly for instance, by pressing the Globe key in the lower left corner and then choosing a different keyboard. It would bring up options and I could choose Grammarly so that I could do proofreading. When I was done I would switch it back. Now I have to remove the iPad from the keyboard to even bring up the settings.

One day it just stopped working. Did Apple decide to renege on this functionality? Is there any way to fix it? I can't find any setting that would allow or disallow this function.
