How to enable keyboard on Apple Watch Series 3

Hi,

I have an Apple Watch Series 3 I’ve had since it came out. A keyboard option used to be available when texting but now only scribble is available. How to I access the keyboard and turn scribble off on my Apple Watch Series 3? It seems like after a few iOS updates this went away.
