My MacBook air does not output any sound when using the built in MachBook Speakers. Sound works fine when connected with airpods or other bluetooth devices. I have confirmed under sound setting that vol output is not 0 and built in speakers are selected.

Try to restart your MacBook Air if it works.
If it doesn't help, try to check your MacBook Air with Apple diagnostics if it's caused by hardware related trouble.

If it doesn't report error, contact Apple Support or take your MacBook Air to your local retail Apple Store, Genius Bar or Apple Authorized Service Provider to be examined your MacBook Air there.
