Dropped Apple TV remote in glass of water for a few seconds. Towel dried surface immediately. Blew warm air from hair dryer directed to it from 6 inches away. Tv turned off after time and remote won’t start it. Model A1962, Recommendations?

The internal battery will have short-circuited, and be damaged beyond repair, even after good drying. Replacement is in order.
The black remote isn’t available from Apple anymore, but a later model is perfectly compatible. Smaller resellers (eBay etc.) may still have a few of the black remotes, if you prefer.
Replacement remotes will have to be paired with the box: Pair the Siri Remote with Apple TV - Apple Support.
