My old Mac Mini hard drive is DEAD!
Today, I read that the Olga hard drive can be “attached to a “1779-ish” drive and data can be recovered. (?)
Now I can’t find that reference!!!
Also something about a Drill Drive or something?
I’m going to an Apple Store tomorrow (Sunday). Can anyone give me some informed feedback on what I should be asking or doing??

What year model is the Mac mini...?
If the Mac mini is a 2006-2009 poly or a 2010-2014 unibody year model, then you can remove the Hard Drive and put it into a USB drive enclosure, in a drive dock or on a USB to SATA drive adapter. Then connect that rig to another Mac and use some type of Data Recovery Software for Mac. see > data recovery software for mac
If it is a 2018 or later Mac min model, then you can not remove the Internal SSD for data recovery.

Do you have a Time Machine or other backup..?
If so, then there is no need to recover data from the dead Mac mini's hard drive.
If you do not have a Time Machine or other backup..?
If not, then expensive data recovery maybe a viable option for recovering your data.

No, I don’t have a Time Machine back-up and was told quite a while back that it was “dead”. R.I.P., but I thought it might be worth a second try? [New methods or tech?]
That reference before was to get “an A1708 Mac and connect the SSD” to it and read the stored data?
