I’m from Egypt and one of my relatives bought me an iPhone 13 locked on AT&T, will it work on the Egyptian operators Orange or Vodafone?
If not, is there any way to be able to use it in Egypt?
I’m asking this because I heard from my friends that it’s only locked for other US networks only, but it could work outside it.
and if i installed esim .. will the lock still persists

Unfortunately, what you "heard" from friends is not correct.
In order to use the phone with another carrier, the phone must first be unlocked by AT&T. Ask your relative to contact AT&T to have the phone unlocked.
It is too late now, but your relative could have purchased an unlocked phone from Apple.

Nope. The phone is locked to AT&T and it must be unlocked by AT&T. They are under no obligation to unlock the phone. They will likely require a large payment to unlock it if they are even willing to do so.
Please read the answers above again. The phone must first be unlocked before service can be set up with another carrier.
