We have the same apple id. But surely you must be able to remove the function that I can see who she spoke to and called? And vice versa…

No. Apple IDs are not meant be shared. Sharing them causes these and other data to merge.
Apple strongly cautions against using the same Apple ID on devices owned by different people.
