Two iphones call same number
If I call a number it shows up on wife’s phone and vice versa

That's what typically happens when two people share the same Apple ID. Apple has advised for over a decade to NOT share the same Apple ID with another person. Now, when you make or receive calls and voicemail messages, they will show on both phones.
