Can my device maybe have a virus from Facebook?

I my phone got a virus from Facebook and I was not able to get rid of it with a simple hard reset, but over three or four days the robot on my iMax Xs seems to have cleared it up. Is it now safe to back up to the cloud?

iOS / iPadOS devices cannot be infected** with Viruses / Malware / Spyware unless you have intentionally downloaded spurious software or unauthorized apps directly from the internet and installed them on your device or/and have Jailbroken

**The primary reason for this is Sandboxing. All third-party apps are “sandboxed”, so they are restricted from accessing files stored by other apps or from making changes to the device. Sandboxing is designed to prevent apps from gathering or modifying information stored by other apps.

The sandbox on an iPhone is a security feature that creates a restricted environment for each app to run in isolation from other apps and the operating system. It is a core component of iOS's security architecture and plays a crucial role in making iPhones more secure.

No, you don’t have a virus. There has never been a virus that can infect an iPhone. What you have is a scam message designed to help you part with your money. There have been other types of malware, but none of them ever came from Facebook. See→Avoid phishing emails, fake ‘virus‘ alerts, phony support calls, and other scams or watch this video:

Are you referring to when the screen detects my finger about to touch it? The strange actions did look like it could be a replay of my own actions but in a chaotic way

No, with Ghost Touch the screen responds to non-existent touches, with no fingers anywhere near the screen. If it only happens when plugged in it means the cable is bad. If it happens at other times the screen digitizer has failed.

So what was making the pages and links act crazy ? Even vibrating its was almost as if some ghost was playing with all the controls.

Not a virus, first, because there are no iPhone viruses, and second, the whole point of a virus or trojan is to be invisible; they are designed so the infected device shows no symptoms whatsoever of being infected.

From the brief description of your symptoms it sounds like “ghost touch”. If it only happens when plugged in, you need a new cable. If it happens other times your screen digitizer has failed; contact Apple to get it replaced→iPhone Screen Repair & Replacement - Official Apple Support
