17.4.1 update caused lost cell/internet/wifi connection

After weeks of trying a number of fixes, the suggestion to turn off my VPN fixed my connection problem. i am concerned if this means keeping my VPN off. I particularly am concerned when traveling both domestically and internationally.

I have an iPad (7th generation) and I finally managed to make room for the huge 17.4.1 update and immediately I cannot connect to Wifi OR my iPhone's hotspot (my iPhone 12 mini took the update fine). I do not have cell plan for my iPad so these are the only ways I can connect to the internet so obviously I'm stuck. Does anyone know of ios 17.5 which is out in Beta, going to fix these obviously prevalent problems with connectivity? The one fix I have found on here, turning off VPN, does not work.

Deleting VPN did the trick! Thank you!

iOS 17.4.1 after internnet not working showin E

I am having the same issue with 2 of the three Apple devices I mainly use. My 2019 iPad Pro 12.9 and my Apple TV. Oddly enough I am not having the issue on my iPhone 12 Pro Max.
