Screen Mirroring from iPad to macOS Laptop

I'm having trouble mirroring my iPad screen to my macOS Laptop.

When select Screen Mirroring on my iPad, my laptop does not show up in the list of available devices.

Oddly though, when on my laptop, I am able to mirror and extend my screen from laptop to iPad.

Are there settings that I need to change so that I can go from iPad to Laptop and not just Laptop to iPad?

Laptop is currently on Sonoma 14.4

iPad is is currently on 17.4

Any help is greatly appreciated.

While there is no native AirPlay receiver built into macOS, there are third-party solutions available. One commercial example that I have used a bit is Reflector 4 by Squirrels, LLC.

While you can use your iPad as a second screen for your Mac, the reverse isn't possible.
