Photos-location data icon
I don't like the appearance of the location data icon in the upper right-hand corner when I look at my photos. Can I make it disappear?

In current versions of Photos, use the menu command View > Metadata > Location to toggle the location data icon.
If you are still using macOS 10.15 as shown below your post, I'm not sure whether that was the way in that old a version.

It has been this way in 10.15 too. I checked on my older Mac with Mojave.
WOW! I just joined this community last night and already got the answer to one issue that's been bothering me for a year. It worked on my macOS 10.15!! Thank you Mark and Leonie.
