Most likely that means that there is a problem with your modem/router. Try resetting it. Also, check your connection. Are you using Ethernet or Wi-Fi? Are you able to send and receive emails?
+1 Please unplug both the modem & router from power for 2-3 minutes and then restart them, wait about 5 minutes to allow them to fully boot. Then reattempt to connect the Mac .
Tried all that. Using Wi-Fi. Upgraded to a new router and modem. As with old set up my i-mac will shows I'm connected to the internet, but when I try to get on the internet my browsers can not connect. After a while it will connect.... I am using a old usb hub that needed a usb 3 to c adapter to connect to my i-mac. I all so can not send mail or receive mail when this happens. If I go to Wi-Fi setting and click on my network it will try to connect to the internet and give me a ! sign.
