How do I permanently delete contacts phone numbers?

My firm’s IT contractor tried to help but added everyone who’d ever emailed my business address— 5000 or so contacts— but NOT most of my personal contacts! I just retired and want to delete almost all those biz contacts. To delete a phone number from a contact, tap on the contact, tap Edit, and tap the “-“ next to the phone number.

To delete an entire contact card tap Edit, then Delete at the bottom of the page.
