Before upgrading to 17.3.1. there was a symbol for emoji to the left of the space-key, and after upgrading it's necassary to use the globe-key and totally switch from ABC to only emoji, and after use of a emoji it's necassary to press the globe again to come back to ABC. I think it's almost a weird way to use emoji...!

If you have more than one language keyboard enabled - in addition to your Emoji keyboard - you will see the globe icon in place of the Emoji icon on your on-screen keyboard.
Removing the unwanted language keyboard - to leave just one language and Emoji - will restore the Emoji icon to the on-screen keyboard:
Settings > General > Keyboards - tap the blue Edit button at top-right to make changes
