looking for a suitable external hardrive

I need to because I have only about 10gb spare on my desktop, but with so many kinds and brand names on the market and wildly different prices, it's difficult to know where to start.My main concern whether it will fail although i do have one already connected to Time Machine so iI am looking for another simply to free up space on my Mac ie to store Music ,Photos and Documents which total about 56GB.

I am not looking for great speed, so an HDD or maybe a hybrid would be ok. Portability would be nice although not essential

OWC has very good external drives. I have used many of their Mercury Elite drives over the years and all have worked perfectly. They come in all different sizes & capacities. You can even get a bare enclosure and put your own HDD or SSD in it. I have used many of their drives & enclosures over the years and have never had a problem.

Most recently, I got an Elite Pro Dual with 3-Port Hub (2-drive unit with built-in USB hub); it works great. For just a single drive the Mercury Elite Pro is a nice unit. You can get either unit bare, with an HDD or an SSD inside.
