Several attempts to install update 14.4.1 have resulted in “preparing macOS Sonoma 14.4.1 . . 30 minutes remaining” seeming to be stuck with the blue bar at about 60% and not moving.
rebooted once same issue when installing. Downloads fine but can’t seem to install.
iMac (2017 – 2020)
I had the same issue.
To be able to install 14.4.1 – and any other future versions if the issue persist:
Il will download the installer app to your Applications folder (the installer app is about 14GB in size).
Once the download was completed I had to reboot the system as the automatic upgrade prevented somehow the installer to start – after rebooting I was finally able to upgrade by double clicking on the "Install Sonoma" app.

I'm working on an iMac. I've tried the solutions provided here, but nothing is working for me. Sonoma 14.4.1 downloads to 2.71 GB then immediate reverts to the 30 minutes remaining and stalls. Are there more ways to solve this? I've spent my whole morning (losing work time) on this. Help please.
Took a long time, but it finally finished. I used the installer and it worked just fine.
However -- and here's the kicker -- the installed version is NOT 14.4.1, so the system is again telling me that I need to upgrade to 14.4.1.
Ridiculous!

I have tried to install 14.5 four times. It was finally completed after the 4th attempt. I should know better than to install an update on the release date.
