Lost my Iphone 14 Pro Max Device - Being Tracked in China

I have lost of iPhone in UK few weeks back and it started getting tracked in my apple watch in Dubai first this week and today in - shenzhen guangdong china almost similar thread to this one.

After reading this thread - I am wondering is this the story for everyone after loosing iphone ? No chance of getting it back ? - still want to know

Why do Apple has discrepancy of showing device location on Applewatch and iCloud.com

why both platforms do not show same update ?

icloud has never shown any tacking for my iphone since the time I lost it - Phone is shown offline.

Is my data really safe ? I have marked my device as lost which again shows pending :(

As you saw from that older thread, there is a huge market for stolen iPhones centered in Shenzhen. If your phone had a passcode your content is completely safe.

But beware of a common phishing scam: You may get a text or email from “Apple” or “Apple Security” (or sometimes “Police”) saying your phone has been found and to click on a link to see its location. This is NEVER from Apple or from law enforcement; it is from the thief or fence to steal your Apple ID and identity. Delete any such message without responding to it. Apple never gets involved in lost or stolen devices→Avoid phishing emails, fake ‘virus‘ alerts, phony support calls, and other scams
