You don't remove it and it is not able to be bypassed. What you have to do is gain access to your account that was used to set it up,, or provide the original documentation showing that you purchased the device from Apple.
How could you not know your Apple ID as it is also an email address that you should still be using or at least remember from the hint of it given in the Activation Lock Screen. Here are some other ways to find the Apple ID that you may have used. Once you find it, you can then reset the password and enter your information into the Activation Lock Screen.

If you are unable to do this, then your only other option is to provide the original purchase receipt from Apple or Authorized Apple seller that shows your name along with the serial number of the device. No third party seller receipt will be accepted.
