I've been told "within the next 2 weeks" since early February. Now I'm hearing that they're telling people "by the end of May". Not sure which year though. Absolute BS. I have zero faith that it will be released by the end of May 2024 either given that they've lied about this the entire time.
Apps work very well, on the 2024 navigation took some getting used to using the back button to switch displays and apps but once you get the hang of it pretty straight forward
I'm using vibe communicator which has been really good for routing audio to head set and voice calls have been clear with no delay or muffled sound. Haven't made any direct calls yet so can't comment on dialing out, just accepted a few. Voice assistant button works well
I have my iPhone mounted and cable running connected from dash box. Wish they support wireless carplay or added a USB connector near handlebar, leaving iPhone in dashboard connected causes it to overheat, hence the mount on handle bars, using quadlock for that.
I have my phone registered on BT to vehicle and my headset registered to driver head set. Haven't had much luck connecting 2 phones though and it seems to get confused as to which one to connect, so sticking to one.
Carplay requires a headset connected and I don't always wear my full face that has the communicator, so I leave communicator on and helmet stored in frunk, works well for me as the purpose was navigation and music calls. The siri integration has been working well for me when I use it, primarily to set navigation or switch music or apps
I have had three instances where the dashboard freezes and goes into a weird reboot sequence, pull over, restart vehicle and it resets finez figure and update will fix that at some point, I can live with it.
Overall I am very happy with the integration and for my needs it works perfectly.
Tip, works better for me, have phone unlocked and connected to vehicle and headset turned on before turning on key and it seems to connect consistently. When I don't do that the odd time it doesn't connect without trying a couple times or opening bt in phone and connecting there. Still need and still playing with it, if I find anything I will post
I got a letter from them offering extended warranty OR $500 in credit for accessories. Really, only $500?!? That is laughable. The 2024 with ACP is worth more than that. This is a bogus concession.
Hello Phil0124
Thank you for the fast reply.
As you asked, YES the iphone is paired to the spyder, and my cardo is paired to the spyder, and it shows both are connected to the spyder.
According to BRPs web page, there will be a greyed out ACP app icon if there not pared, well I do not show a app at all.
According to a BRP rep, that I heard from today, this issue with apple car play not showing up is apple's fault.
What I read on the spyder forums is, this is a apple/BRP license issue.
All I know is I purchased a 2024 spyder and APC is not installed and does not work.
I just want to see what Apple has to say about this issue.
Its been going on for weeks, "it will be only 1-2 weeks more", that was a month ago, that's what BRP says.
I just want the truth.
I have the same issue. I bought a new can am and really want ACP. I spoke to an agent at can am and they said when the software gets updated you will see a greyed out CarPlay app when your not connected to Bluetooth.
she also said they would let me know when the software is ready. She didn’t have any projected date. I hope it’s not long. I have a work around with an iPhone mount, but I don’t like it.
if anyone sees the new software, please update this post.
Has anyone had any luck yet with the apple car play on the Can Am Spyders. It’s ridiculous after being promised that ACP is on the machine and spending over 30K to find it was never on there. I’ve called Can Am and just keep getting told we’re working on it and just a few more weeks.
Hello xerxes4285
Very good post, glad you were able to put the pic of you text message with BRP.
Now we can message BRP our self.
It would have been nice if BRP would have notified someone about there issue, like the dealer or customer, but they wanted to keep it a secret so they could make sales. well this is starting to backfire when they see sales drop because people are finding out that there screwing the customer for shipping there product with a defective operating gauge cluster.
I hate jumping on the "me too" bandwagon, but I reached out to BRP on May 16th and received a similar response:
"I deeply apologize for the inconvenience being the Apple CarPlay is
still not available, an important feature many customers are still
waiting on. I wanted to let you know that over the last couple of
months, the Apple CarPlay was available for a few dealerships to test
its functionality, but later it was found that there was a bug in the
update, and they again had to fix the update, which made this delay so
long. I can assure you that the appropriate team is working tirelessly
as much as they can to have the update as soon as possible, but I am
afraid I can't confirm on an exact date it will be released as we have
no ETA.
I kindly advise you to keep in touch with your dealership, <deleted name>,
and they will let you know directly as soon as the update
is available. We deeply appreciate your patience in this whole process,
and we apologize once again for any inconveniences it may cause."
So I reached out to my salesperson, asking who at the dealership I should be talking to.
The response was a bit of confusion, as they apparently didn't know anything about what was going on:
"I just forwarded your email to the sales manager so she is aware of it as well.
You should receive an email from BRP and a letter in the mail when any kind of software update/recall that applies to your unit. At the point that the software is available, you will be able to go to any BRP certified dealership and have the update/recall performed to your unit free of charge!
I will also make my service department aware of the situation so they can be on the lookout for an update and see if they can call you as well!"
So the dealer is pointing the finger back at CAN-AM, which I can't fault them for, since they sell and service CAN-AM products, but they are not the ones creating the updates or fixes, only following the manufacturers instructions to install the released updates.
In the meantime, I bought a Garmin Zumo XT GPS, mounted it on my handlebars, and paired it with my phone and the bluetooth headset in my helmet. The Zumo will stay there until Apple Carplay navigation is working correctly.
I think I'll trust the information in the letter I received directly from BRP/Can-Am, not some random sales person.
And of course there's the fact that Apple doesn't require any kind of signed agreement or license to use Apple CarPlay functionality. The developer/manufacturer is responsible for writing their software to correctly communicate with CarPlay. And Apple provides tools, free of charge, for developers.
Here's the Apple Developers site for CarPlay:
I ride a 2024 Spyder RT Sea to Sky. I was able to connect my Spyder to my home WiFi network, and download the update from CAN-AM that included Apple CarPlay, and after I jumped through the other two hoops it has been working fine.
The "hoops" are that once I downloaded the update, I also had to make sure that the other requirements for using CarPlay with your Spyder are also met. You can find them in your CAN-AM Spyder RT Series Operators Guide (aka owners manual).
Page 34 (bottom right) - "The front USB port must be used to run Apple CarPlay."
Which means you must plug your iPhone into the USB port located in the glove box in front of the handlebars, as noted on Page 50 and 51.
Page 50 (bottom) - "To use the Apple CarPlay, you must
NOTE:
If one of the two devices is not properly connected, Apple CarPlay can not be used."
Page 51 (top)- "NOTE:
An undamaged genuine USB is greatly recommended.
The USB port is located in the glove box."
I have an Apple iPhone SE 2nd Gen connected to the black USB plug in the glove box using an Apple cable.
I have a SENA 3S Plus bluetooth headset installed in my helmet, and have paired my headset to my Spyder.
Here's what the display looks like when you get all of the pieces installed correctly:
And yes, since it's Apple Carplay you must use an Apple iPhone. It will not work with an Android phone.
Same. I just checked and no update for Apple Car Play
I got it downloaded. I had to turn the bike motor on to give the battery enough power to install it. Just using the battery wasn’t enough. Can’t wait to test it on my ride Friday.
What happens when you try to use it exactly?
How are you trying to use it?
Are you following the Can Am's user guide to activate Car Play?
To use the Apple CarPlay, you must
1. Connect a compatible smartphone to the display via USB cable.
2. Pair a helmet audio system to the display via Bluetooth.
NOTE:
If one of the two devices is not properly connected, Apple CarPlay can not be
used.

Thank you Webberpack for you input.
I do agree, lets keep this post up to date as to who has received the update and if it works or not.
I had to do the same thing, (mound for my Iphone), its not a temporary thing, I just don't like it in the glove box.
They pushed the release date back because of license issues, and never tested if they could download it to the spyder?
That is one thing you test, and then test and then test again. Been there done that.
As for the update there all the same, as for software, there not like windows where, you add software and hardware, and different brands and it messes up the software and drivers.
Well my experience with BRP over the years has been good. But these last 2 years when new technology is being released they have sold the product to the consumer before they had all the pieces to make it work. They will have it by next year for sure but that doesn’t make first year purchasers happy. I bought a 2024 snowmobile with the new gauge that was supposed to have a GPS module but machine came and no module. The 2025 model has it and it’s a $100.00 accessory for us last year buyers. If they promise newer and greater thing's, wait a year till it’s actually on the dealer floor.
Hello Paratrooper_987
On my 2024 spyder the screen dashboard shows the user name of my cardo packtalk bold on the screen for BT headset.
It will show the name of my iphone for BT iphone connection.
I found a bug in my software.
Bug #1 I can no longer listen to music from my iphone, I was able to listen to music from my iphone when I got the spyder but no more now.
All I can listen to now is the radio.
Bug #2
After talking on the phone with BT headset, and hanging up, the phone app still showed on the app switcher screen and when I adjusted the volume for the radio, the volume changed but the vertical graph did not show on the screen.
Bug #3 my passenger heated handle do not work.
Still in the testing mode for other Bugs.
And of course ACP is the biggest one.
