I've been told "within the next 2 weeks" since early February. Now I'm hearing that they're telling people "by the end of May". Not sure which year though. Absolute BS. I have zero faith that it will be released by the end of May 2024 either given that they've lied about this the entire time.

@Fing86, previously you mentioned that you said something about lawyers or lawsuits to them. Most all companies will then immediately cease communication with you and direct you to their legal team if you mention lawyers or lawsuits. The BRP customer service people are probably under similar orders and will no longer talk to you going forward. Believe me I want to tell them the same thing but I also know what would happen.

I am resigned to the fact that we are never getting ACP and that's why they are giving us an extra year of BEST Warranty or $500 of merchandise. If we do get it that's great but I am tired of fighting with them and being told "in another 2 weeks" for the last 4+ months. At least now they aren't even giving an ETA. Maybe by next riding season we'll see it, but I am giving up on seeing it this year.

That sounds like BRP, same old BS, "we are working on it", "just another couple weeks", "our team is working non stop".

Just let us truthfully know what your doing and when your planning on getting on fixed, and what fixes are being done.

I have other problems besides ACP.

Just like other companies, when the upgrade is done, they note what all has been addressed, and fixed.

I wonder what were going to see?

If its true, "our team is working non stop trying to get a working update', I wonder how much time they have actually spent on the update, and how much money they have spent so far on a fix?

As we see, BRP does not care about there customers. There not doing every thing for the customers, they keep giving us failed time lines, and when there failing that, there trying to keep us happy by giving us money to buy there stuff or a extended warranty.

Some one has to push BRP to quit dragging there feet about this update fix.

It has been mentioned about a law suit, but I feel that avenue could do something, but will take time before we see a working ACP.

Its been said that there are glitches in the software, or bugs, well with a glitch, certain condition must be met in the software string to cause a issue.

We are lucky that the glitches they mention are not in the system critical area of the software.

It looks like anything or everything involved in the operation of the spyder is connected and has conditions with the gauge cluster.

When will a glitch come up where your driving down the free way and something major happens to the running of the spyder and you crash?

I wonder what BRP will say then?

Hello Mac_a_tac

Here is what you can do, you can go back to your dealer and tell them you are returning the spyder and want a full refund for the spyder you purchased because of a item (ACP) not working and this item (can am spyder) was sold to you by BRP through your dealer as a working feature stated by BRP.

I all ready talked to my dealer about this option, and they said it is conceivable.

Since it has been over 4+ months since the can am spyder came out for delivery, and they have stated many times when the update will be available, and it has not, at there stated date or time frame, that now constitute the feature (ACP) and the firmware update as fraud since they have not released it to the customer or the dealer.

Giving you money for brp products or the extended warranty is just there way to sweet talk you to not take legal actions.

The worst part from BRP was to not tell the customer or the dealer that ACP was not working when the item (can am spyder) was sold to you.

That is fraud. It doesn't even matter if the dealer doesn't know, he is just the middle man in the purchase.

But he is still selling you a fraudulent item, the dealer has paperwork from BRP stating that ACP is a working feature on the 2024 can am spyder.

It is OK to talk about the spyder without ACP working saying that we are working the bugs out, but that all changes when the item is sold.

@NJLocoman, they have been demoing ACP working for 9 months now. It was never included on any 2024 shipped to customers. A factory reset won't do anything because the feature is simply not included in the current firmware.

It did get released for about 4 hours 2 months ago, I actually had it for a day. Then they pulled the update and pushed the original firmware out to those who had it and of course that removed ACP as well.

From what I understand Apple does not charge to license ACP, so not sure how that could be the problem. Probably BRP's implementation was so craptastic that they had to pull it due to bugs and they still can't make it work right.

I have all but given up on seeing ACP this riding season, if ever. Probably why they are offering us $500 or a year extra warranty because they know it's not coming anytime soon, if ever. I haven't read the fine print, but I suspect if you take the offer it also absolves them from any future liability via the court system as well.

Jun 9, 2024 6:46 PM in response to ChupacabraZZZ

It's a one page letter and there's no fine print disclaimers, other than stating that you need to take advantage of the offer by December 31, 2024 and that you bring proof of purchase and the VIN number when you claim either compensation.

When I first contacted my dealer about the missing Carplay issue, the response was that when a software update is released BRP would contact me, and then I could take my Spyder to any BRP dealer to get the update installed. He also said he'd make sure his service department was aware of the problem so they could watch for an update, and contact me when it was available. That email response was dated May 16, the same day I emailed him.

I received my letter from BRP and contacted him on June 3rd about receiving the letter, and reminded him that I was not offered a B.E.S.T. warranty so that was of no use to me, and asked about the $500 credit. It's the evening of June 9th, a week later, and I haven't heard from anyone at the dealer.

I will be calling them tomorrow, Monday morning.

The letter does say that when Apple Carplay is available that they (BRP) will contact me and provide information on how I can get it "...restored to your vehicle via the comfort of your home or at your local dealership."

The last line of the letter is a sentence in bold that refers the dealer to an "Experience Express newsletter" dated May 24, 2024.

When and if it's ever released again you can update it yourself over WiFi. No need to take it to the dealer unless something goes horribly wrong. I installed the version in April that had it over WiFi, was pretty quick and painless once I got the bike to connect to my WiFi which is another saga in itself.

I will still wait for someone to actually claim the $500 credit or the 1 year warranty since you have to make a choice. At that point they may still make you sign a waiver of liability.

I visited the dealer. The salesman I worked with was with another customer when I got there, so I waited around. They had three Spyders/Rykers on display, but they looked odd to me. There was one with saddlebags and a top case, but it was a flat black, and didn't look like my 2024. So when the salesman finally came over to me, I asked about them. He told me they were all 2023 models. He said they're selling out of the 2024 models as quickly as they can uncrate them and prep them for sale.

So I asked about the letter, and he said he'd heard about it, but asked me give him a few minutes to check with his manager. Off he went, and stayed in her office for quite awhile, and then finally came back.

What he came back with was the dealer's version of the BRP Carplay letter, that had some information that was instructions to the dealer about how to deal with the requests, and some information I hadn't seen before.

While it doesn't apply to me, one of the things I saw was that the B.E.S.T. coverage was limited to a maximum of 6 years, and could not be extended for a longer time. So for those who already have 6 years of BEST coverage you'll have to go for the PA&A.

As for the Parts, Accessories & Apparel he asked me if I knew what I wanted. I told him I didn't. He told me to go online, choose the things I wanted for up to the $500 limit, and send him the list and he'd get them for me. He did say that depending on what I chose, it could take him about a week to get some of the items.

I sent him the list via email this morning and haven't heard back yet. He hasn't been very good about responding to email, so if I haven't heard from him by the middle of next week I'll call him.
