Sim Card Not Working After South East Asia

I was in Bali and got a SIM card, I kept getting weird forced pop ups along the line of “Primary sending request” or something. This made my phone unusable so I took the sim out and made do without. After getting to Thailand my SIM card now isn’t working my phone. The sim does work in other phones… any advice would be greatly appreciated.

what I’ve tried:

resetting network settings

resetting all settings

updating IOS

iPhone XR

To be able to use any SIM across the globe you must have "No SIM Restriction" against Network Provider Lock. Please refer to the pic below.

If you see No Service or Searching in the status bar on your iPhone or iPad (Wi-Fi + Cellular), your device isn't connected to a cellular network. If you see SOS or "SOS only" in the status bar, your device can still make emergency calls.
