Cancel Apple gift card bought through Amazon?

I wanted to buy a regular Amazon gift card for my son, but I didn't realize it was an Apple gift card. Is there any way to cancel this? It was sent to my son, but he has not clicked on it to receive it.

A purchase from Amazon would need to be returned to Amazon. Please contact the Amazon support team about returning a gift card for a refund.

Per Apple, no. Gift Cards are not redeemable for cash and cannot be returned for a cash refund (except as required by law); exchanged; resold; or used to purchase Gift Cards.
