My iPhone was stolen, how do I ensure the data has been removed off the iPhone?

I had my iPhone stolen and the thief used my passcode to access it. I suspect they saw me inputting it in and memorized it. They then disabled find my iPhone and removed the device from my iCloud account. My question is how do I know if they still have access to my data/photos? How do I know if the phone has been restored or not?

Okay, enough with the dribbling.

You have had a catastrophic security compromise.

In short, everything. Local iPhone data. iCloud data. Everything.

If they wanted it, all of your data included.

Quite possibly including data from other devices via any iCloud backups.

If they want to, they can brick your devices, and delete everything, and can use your data to scam your friends and contacts.

Change your Apple ID password, enable two-factor authentication if not already enabled, review your security and run Safety Check, look for unrecognized trusted devices, change all passwords, etc.

They have your passcode - and the phone is not Activation Locked. So no, changing your Apple ID password does not lock them out of the phone.

if your carrier blacklists the phone, that may cut the criminals off from cellular voice, text message, and data service - but they’d still be able to use the iPhone as though it was an iPod touch. They’d still be able to go through your contacts, photos, videos, notes, etc.

I did all that already, they dont have any access to my Icloud data anymore. Im only worried about the local data/photos/videos

A catastrophic and total compromise includes access to read and modify everything; every video, every photo, every chat, every mail message, every password, every linked social media profile, everything.

Worrying about that won’t change what happened.
