Bug in Iphone 15 Pro Max Battery Charging Optimization

I believe there might be a bug in the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s battery charging optimization. I’ve configured it to limit the charge to 80% and set up an automation to alert me when it reaches that level. However, sometimes I forget to unplug the charger, and by the time I do, the battery has already exceeded 80%.

Is this a known bug? Is there someone experiencing this same kind of issue?

If you encounter something unexpected on your iOS device, it's always helpful to report it. Apple engineers appreciate all feedback, even if it turns out to be a new feature or setting you haven't discovered yet. Bug Reporting - Feedback Assistant

About 80% Limit with iPhone 15 models --> About Optimised Battery Charging on your iPhone - Apple Support (IN)

Extracted from the above Apple Article...

"With iPhone 15 models, you can choose between Optimised Battery Charging, 80% Limit and None.

When you choose 80% Limit, your iPhone will charge up to about 80 percent and then stop charging. If the battery charge level gets down to 75 percent, charging will resume until your battery charge level reaches about 80 percent again.

With 80% Limit enabled, your iPhone will occasionally charge to 100 percent to maintain accurate battery state-of-charge estimates."
