I’m trying to figure out how to have a discord call on my connected headphones, while still playing music out of the phone itself. I just recently switched from Samsung, where separate app sound is a built in feature. It seems pretty hard to believe that this would be impossible on a brand new iPhone in 2024 for any reason other than an extremely arbitrary one?

I don't know what a discord call is, but if you mean have a phone conversation at the same time as music is playing, that is not possible on iPhone. I hope that is an answer you find definitive enough?
Personally, if I'm on a phone call, I can't imagine a situation where I'd also want music to be playing at the same time. I'm either having a conversation or I'm listening to music and have no need or desire to have both active at the same time.

For what reason is it not possible? Nobody has an explanation as to why it can’t be done. Super disappointed in the lack of basic features IOS is lacking that android has had for YEARS.
