Where are my Voice Memos in ICloud??????

Hi, this question seems to have been asked before in other threads without any resolution. I want to back up the hundreds of voice memos on my iphone to icloud. In my phone's iCloud settings, voice memos are enabled and connected to icloud. However, when I log into iCloud on my computer, there are no voice memos to be found. Nada. Nix. Nothing.

Where are my voice memos stored if they have indeed been backed up? How can I access them? They are not to be found on my icloud drive.

Before you go ahead and explain to me the procedure for enabling voice memos in iCloud, please note, as stated very clearly above, I have already followed the official steps and enabled icloud for voice memos, and began a new backup. But there is no place to see Voice memos in my icloud drive. There isn't even an empty voice memo section. It is simply not there. Just photos. where are my voice notes?

I am also signed in to my iMac with the very same appleID as my phone. and guess what? My voice memos app on my Mac is also 100% empty. So the explanation on Apple's official website which states "your audio recordings appear and are kept up to date automatically on your iPhone, iPad, and Mac where you’re signed in with the same Apple ID and Voice Memos is turned on in iCloud settings or preferences." is simply not true. Why is this the case?

Is this a known bug? why can I not back up my voice memos? is it a bug with iCloud? As it stands, it seems like Apple is advertising a service they are not providing. Which is false advertising by definition. It is highly frustrating. What is the deal?

I am also experiencing an issue with my icloud settings page on my mac itself. Namely that it just comes up with a blank gray screen. This issue has been raised already by another user here. Again, without any resolution. just some random troubleshooting "suggestions" that do not help or work.

So, it seems there is a wider bug happening with icloud itself. Maybe it's related. Please shed some light on this issue.

Gee whizz, thanks for the in-depth and super helpful explanation dude. Riddle me this: What is the point in syncing to Icloud, if I cannot access the personal data has been synced, at icloud.com?

iCloud is primarily a synchronization service. It facilitates keeping devices in sync. As previously indicated, not all application data is accessible at iCloud.com.

And why is this not the case for photos, for instance?

We cannot speculate as to why Apple may or may not provide access online. Data like iMessages, news, music, etc. are also not accessible either because there is no interface or due to end-to-end encryption.

Seems to me like ICloud.com would be a really helpful and logical place for the data you sync to iCloud, to be made accessible. Like photos are. for instance...

The point of backing data up is to have... wait for it... a backup! and I know this is mind-blowing stuff, but it would also be really really great, if I could actually access that backup. I know it's asking a lot to have access to one's own personal data. Data I pay to have backed up. What a world!

You're conflating iCloud the synchronization service with storing your device backup in iCloud. Device backups are inaccessible at iCloud.com. Most items synced with iCloud are not backed up. Eg. Photos, email, notes, etc. when deleted from a connected device are also deleted in iCloud; hence not a backup.

Also, convenient that you ignored the bit about my voice memo app on my Mac being completely empty, despite being logged in with the same AppleID as my phone. Got a snarky unhelpful explanation for that too?

Snarky? No. I'd simply try restarting the Mac and or log out/in to iCloud. Provided your iCloud settings are enabled on phone and Mac, it should sync.

And any big brain takes on why my ICloud Systems settings are showing up as blank in my Mac system settings?

Again, I'd restart the Mac. And, ensure that you are running the latest version of MacOS.
