GPS lagging during wireless charging

I was having a problem with Maps and Google Maps lagging behind the actual location during navigation, sometimes up to several minutes. At other times the GPS precision was terrible. Very annoying as you miss turns, and the phone is useless for navigating.

I’m using iPhone 11 and iOS 17.4.1.

I contacted Apple support and followed all their instructions,

even reinstalling to a blank factory setup. Nothing helped.

The phone is in a wireless charging dock while navigating.

Today I found out that if I unplug the charger but keep the phone in the dock, all the map apps work correctly again. If I plug in the charger again the GPS starts drifting soon after.

Seems to be a hardware issue.

I have read posts in here dated back to 2020 about the same issue and behavior, even after replacing their phone. Surprised that Apple has not fixed this yet!
