Pulsing white ring around the blue dot in Apple Maps

After some research, the pulsing blue circle in Apple Maps goes to location accuracy. A larger blue circle is less accurate, while a smaller blue circle is more accurate. All the pulsing means is the system is trying to accurately determine the location, which can be affected by many factors, such as your connection to either cellular or satellite beacons near you. Thus it will continue to pulse until your precise location is determined.

It is normal to have a pulsating ring.it presumably indicates an active gps scan.

Yes, it's normal. It shows that you're actively being tracked.

I believe that indicates you are currently sharing your location with someone.

I'm pretty sure it's what I said above and has nothing to do with sharing one's location.

Nothing to do with sharing, it just shows your location to yourself.
