5th Gen Ipod Classic with latest version of Itunes

OS is Windows 11. I have over 2000 songs in Itunes cloud. I purchased a few songs recently in Itunes, and tried to sync them to my Ipod, but it would not download the new songs. After several attempts to sync, I did a factory reset on my Ipod, then sync Itunes to it. It only downloaded a little over 500 songs of over the 2000 songs I have in their cloud. Tried several times. Why isn't it downloading all songs ? The Ipod Classic is 80G, and total space used at the time was 60G so I have the space. I'm thinking of buying another Ipod, but afraid I'll have the same experience, and wondering if Apple is really supporting the Ipod. I'm looking at maybe purchasing the Ipod touch. Any feedback on my issue will be greatly appreciated.
