iPhone 15 won't connect to CarPlay

I just got a new iPhone 15. Followed directions to connect it to CarPlay (2018 Honda Civic) but it does not recognize the new phone. I noticed lots of similar issues from other users but no comments have been made recently, so I'm wondering if there are any updates or new work-arounds that people have used?

My new iPhone 16 Pro won’t work with CarPlay got a brand new iPhone 16 Pro and it will not work while in the car. Never had any issues before with any of my older phones.
