hello I have changed the battery, did the 5 step process and restarted my phone. The AirTag does not register

Is this a tag which was already “on” your AppleID and on which you simply changed the battery …
… or is this a “new to your AppleID” AirTag?
Is the AirTag “pre-owned” ???
Hello thanks for responding. I did follow the steps for battery replacement. I am using tbd same 2032 battery that I had in previously. It worked great until I changed cars. Now my iPhone does not recognize the AirTag.
Hello it is the same AirTag, I changed cars and replaced the battery in the AirTag for the new car. The AirTag before I changed cars worked great. Now I sm unable to have the iPhone XS read it. Thanks
