Locked and restricted Apple Card Account

My Apple Card has been locked and restricted since early March and it’s now April. I’ve been told to be patient and I’ve already verified my identity and yet I’ve only received a call to ask about a recent purchase I was attempting to make and when I opened my account and that was all. I’ve called multiple times and I’ve been told to stay patient.

They are using a third party verification service such as LexisNexis or a similar company that does verifications.

But something is but something is odd. This sounds more like your Apple Cash account and not your Apple Card MasterCard account. Generally speaking credit card accounts do not have multiple verifications. However, an account like Apple Cash, because of the money transfers is subject to additional verification procedures if account history shows a need.

Do you know which account is locked/restricted?

Banks use various means to detect potential fraud and money laundering. Some of your past spending patterns may have tripped their automated detection methods. Banks also are required by Federal law to Know Your Customers (KYC). These laws go hand in hand with fraud and Anti Money Laundering laws. Banks are regularly inspected and audited to verify compliance with federal laws. Your account may have had an irregularity with your ID, Social Security Number, address etc. As noted above, banks typically use an outside service to conduct the additional verification necessary to positively ID you and clear your account.

Banks are prevented from revealing the details and reasons for the restriction due to The Bank Secrecy Act. This federal law and supporting regulations prohibit bank employees from discussing the detail, finds and really anything about the restriction and verification.

It’s been about a month. I made disputes because of some charges I didn’t recognize and the money has been put back on my account no problem, but now my account is restricted and locked. When I first called to inquire about the situation they verified my identity and told me someone would call me. When someone did call I was away from my phone and called the number back and now I’ve only received a call to verify a purchase I was attempting to make and when I opened my card.
