New iPhone sign in to gmail

iPhone 13 PM. Since set up it keeps asking me to sign in to my gmail account whenever I want to open an app. I have to leave the app to go to email where I am to click yes and a number they’ve assigned. Gmail wants a sign in and double verification. By that time the codes for the app have expired. I want gmail to just open when it’s my phone. What am I missing?

unfailed gmail account when i want to update my apps an old gmail account appears on the screen of my iphone asking for its password which i don't know. i tried to reset the password but the iphone said it is unsupported account. I don't know what to do.

Do you have another device with the gmail app on it? Then you can use tap to login to skip the authentication code stress
