Mouse stuttering on M1 macbook pro connected to pro display XDR

Hi there, I am experiencing an issue with my wired mouse when connected to my external display (Pro XDR). it is connected via the usb c port in the back of the monitor. After about 15 minutes of use the mouse begins stuttering heavily like it is dropping frames, but otherwise the monitor continues to function normally. The same issue occurs with my wireless apple magic mouse. The only workaround I have found so far is to manually go into the display settings and change the refresh rate from 60hz to 59.94hz, which refreshes the monitor and seems to mitigate the issue for about 15 minutes or so until the issue starts up again. Running Mac OS Monterey 12.7.2.
